This celebration of dances from around the world features both traditional and contemporary styles. Dances will be performed by artists and troupes from Galway based community groups representing Argentina, Croatia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, France, India, Latvia, Spain plus University of Galway Mexican, India and Chinese Societies. There will be special artistic presentations by members of the Galway-based Ability West organisation and from ThatDisabledDancer, who is gaining a great online following.

The Mexican Society invites all members of the Galway community, residents, and visitors alike, to join them for this unique celebration of dance and culture representing the diversity of Galway society. We look forward to sharing this special evening of dance and solidarity with you. The evening will conclude with a DJ so be sure to bring your dancing shoes. According to the Mexican Society ‘We invite you to join us for this unique and splendid celebration of dance, unity, and philanthropy. Come, witness the harmonious melange of cultures that make up modern Ireland today, all under one roof. Let’s embrace diversity and make a difference’.

The dance groups involved are looking forward to sharing their performances with the audience, there will be dances from around the world including Irish, Indian, Croatian,Spanish and Chinese dancers and the irrepressible Can-Can representing France. The Latin dances will include elements from Mexico, Dominican Republic, Argentina and Cuba with rhythmic drama, tension and romance! The Latvian Folk dance group “Rietumkrasts”, which means West Coast in English, dance, laugh and celebrate together while keeping their traditions alive. They believe that there is a great power in dance. According to Ability West ‘dance reaches all individuals regardless of their disabilities. It’s an opportunity to express themselves through the medium of music and movement’.
